Research and Intelligence Expert

My journey in the tech sector began as an academic, where I explored migration and entrepreneurship in the UK for my PhD, with the support of Loughborough University and Paragon Law. This academic grounding sharpened my understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by ambitious, driven entrepreneurs, blending theoretical insight with real-world application.

I built on this foundation as a policy researcher at Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation for social good. My work there ranged across the creative economy, political sentiment analysis, data, and digital technology, immersing me in the intersection of policy, innovation, and the fast-evolving tech landscape.

After four years at Nesta, collaborating with leaders like the Royal Statistical Society, HM Government, Adobe, Pearson, and the University of Sheffield, I moved on to launch and lead the research team at Tech Nation. Over 5 years, I shaped and grew the team, initially focusing on grant-funded research before expanding into commercial services and partner-led projects. My remit grew to encompass Data, Research, Communications, Content, and PR, allowing me to engage with some of the most influential names in UK tech: HSBC, Sage, BNP Paribas, Cognizant, Google, LinkedIn, and many others.

For the past 18 months, I have been Director of Research and Intelligence at Notion Capital - having had the pleasure of working closely with Mews, Paddle, Topia, and other portfolio companies to provide tailored insights and strategic direction. Now, as an expert with Notion, I bring this experience to bear on supporting companies looking to deepen their market intelligence, refine segmentation, and enhance their thought leadership and research capabilities. My goal is to equip startups, scaleups, corporates, and policymakers with the tools they need to navigate and shape the rapidly evolving tech ecosystem, driving positive and lasting impact.
