It was founded by Antonis Malaxianakis in 2020 and is headquartered in Athens in shipping superpower Greece.

Greece is a shipping superpower whose companies control more than 20% of the global merchant fleet. Since childhood, Harbor Lab’s founder, Antonis Malaxianakis, had dreamed of working in the maritime industry. But in 2005 - aged just 18 - he had to put this dream on hold to take over the family business in unforeseen circumstances, going on to shepherd it through the toughest economic period in modern Greek history.
In 2013 Antonis began working in shipping, realising a lifelong ambition, but soon discovered the industry was still employing manual accounting processes that led to lost time, money and trust. Antonis decided to develop a software to solve this problem, employing it first at the shipping companies he worked for, then launching Harbor Lab in 2020 to bring his solution to companies and ports around the world.
Antonis was awarded as ‘Next Generation in Shipping’ at the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping awards 2022, has 10 years of experience in the Maritime sector working for reputable Shipowners and holds a B.Sc. in Statistics and M.Sc. in Shipping. He is in the BoD and has served as CEO of Design Pergola S.A in the past for 8 years. He is an Entrepreneur on a mission to digitalize the Shipping Industry, leading with empathy and by example. He is also a proud father of a 1 year old baby girl.
