Joshua Olusanya Platform Intern
Having completed my first internship in a tech start-up by the age of 17, my exposure to the world of tech came relatively early in my career. From working on business development/sales teams, to assisting with fundraising initiatives and investment pitches, my interest in the startup ecosystem knew no bounds.
The idea of playing a role, however small, in building the next big tech giant excites me. This desire led me to Google’s New Business Sales team, where I spent my time consulting 200+ start-ups on how to optimise their digital presence. I really enjoyed my role at Google as I had the opportunity to play a role in the success of so many great start-ups. I took pride in helping founders realise their visions.
I wanted to take this desire further – thus, my career in vc began. Prior to joining Notion, I interned at AfricInvest Capital, a growth fund based in Tunisia, a consumer-tech vc fund in Indonesia and Bethnal Green Ventures, a “tech for good” fund based in London. Since then, I have joined Shaper Impact Capital as an associate doing some pro-bono vc work.
As an intern on the Notion Platform team, I assist with all things post-investment. The talent and relentless resourcefulness exhibited by the European start-up ecosystem has been exhilarating and I can’t wait to assist start-ups in being the market leaders of tomorrow.
