Although I was born and raised in Cambridge, I have a multicultural genealogical tree with roots in Ireland, Germany and Latvia. My first entrepreneurial experience came just before university when I set up a small punting company in Cambridge and had the enviable position of being smaller both in actual size and company size with the smallest fleet on the river. Despite the fierce competition, I found great success working on the streets of Cambridge talking with my customers and convincing them that while the punt looked like it might sink it was in fact seaworthy. My time punting allowed me to spend time travelling around Europe and mainly in Spain where I spent three months immersing myself in the Spanish culture and attending a language course at a local college in the historic city of Salamanca.
That same year, I got the opportunity to travel and experience living in America and Canada before I returned to England to pursue a degree in Marketing at Sheffield Hallam University. I applied for a placement year in the Netherlands as part of my bachelor’s degree. This was when I moved to Maastricht and worked at Philips as part of their global brand team.
At the start of my career, I worked in Marketing for a medical devices company before I transitioned to sales at Redgate where I learnt some crucial lessons about SaaS, scaling up and the challenges of DevOps. Wanting to get closer to start-ups I worked at Pekama building the positioning of the product which together with the founder we pivoted into a successful B2B SaaS business.
Prior to Notion I worked at Hussle, a B2C double sided gym marketplace, as their first Product hire and led the discovery and delivery of the B2B product. I can’t wait to help the Notion team find the best B2B SaaS businesses in Europe and support the founders that are making it happen.
