Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs I’ve always been inspired by founders and the excitement of startup life. I followed this passion at university where I studied business and economics. Given my love for entrepreneurship, I decided to eschew the corporate path, and take a leap to join a very early stage startup when I finished my education.
Working with an experienced founder at a fast growing startup taught me a lot about building product and creating a culture. I took these learnings to Travelex where I spent three years managing payments products around the world and building and launching new ones. My experience launching Supercard to 25,000 UK consumers was extremely rewarding and really gave me a taste for the end to end process of launching a product, from inception, to building the team through to launch – there were a lot of ups and downs but it was extremely gratifying to see the product “in the wild”.
My plan was to return to the startup world before Notion came calling. VC has always been a dream job for me, so naturally, I jumped at the chance. I have loved my time at Notion, being part of a smart, fun and humble team seeking extraordinary founders and ideas is a truly privileged existence. Given my background, I’m particularly excited by product/design led companies who are disrupting sleepy incumbents in an industry which hasn’t been impacted much by technology.
