My last 20 years in the technology industry have been an incredible ride. I’ve travelled and lived all over the world and worked in some of the very best companies at their prime. I rode the wave of the 2000 tech bubble in Silicon Valley with Cisco and experienced Bangalore when it was thought to be the next Silicon Valley in the late 2000s. I tried my luck in an IOT startup in Portugal before IOT was even really developed as a concept. In the early 2010s, I experienced first hand the establishment and impressive growth of the world’s dominant cloud computing company, Amazon Web Services. I was then exposed to what it takes to build iconic technology companies while on the investment team at one of the world’s best funds, Accel Partners in London.
Yet my innate curiosity, desire to learn and never-ending passion to help people and companies keeps getting stronger. At Notion, I’m proud to be part of a team that lives and breathes building one + one = three dynamics across teams and companies. This is a team that always grade itself as “B-/C+, could do better” and constantly strives to improve and reinvent itself. We’re fortunate to do this with an incredible portfolio of entrepreneurs and technologists, as well as a broader thriving ecosystem.
Every day I wake to the prospect of building ever bigger and better technology companies. I finish the day amazed by the talent and ideas around me. Tackling the impossible, charting the unknown and supporting those bold enough to believe in a brighter future is what drives me. As the leader of one of my old employers says, “it’s only Day 1”. And it all usually starts with a good cup of coffee.
