Born in Mexico, raised on the Web, studied in Montreal, and moved to London five years ago. I joined the Notion team in 2016 as an associate, focusing on early-stage vertical AI companies across Europe, and have come to enjoy the endless banter, sense of camaraderie, and being constantly challenged by such an amazing team.
Started my career working at IBM, joining the strategy team that oversaw Safaricom’s MPESA and covered Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania as we rolled out a new savings plan. Eventually joined IBM Watson’s startup program as their first employee in EMEA, opening new markets and setting up teams from London to Tel-Aviv. Having studied in Montreal right after CIFAR’s deep learning explosion, I was fortunate to have been exposed to this wave early on and decided to stay close to it. Watson opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that leveraging unstructured data would have on modern applications, and I’ve been pretty much focusing on that ever since.
Apart from that, I learned the realities of entrepreneurship by starting and crashing not one but two businesses in college, enjoy bringing applied AI communities together by co-organizing London.AI and Paris.AI and am a big fan and supporter of CodeClub, a fantastic charity that teaches students 9-11 to code in afterschool programs.
