Founded in 2008 with offices in the U.S. and UK, Brightpearl is used by more than 1,200 merchants around the world that have collectively processed more than $1.4bn of orders in the last 12 months.
Derek is CEO of Brightpearl, responsible for the overall company strategy. Recognised as a leading retail expert, his mantra is to deliver on Brightpearl’s mission to automate the back office for today’s merchants.During the 1990’s Derek founded two IT companies, including Ireland’s first online advertising agency building database driven websites and offering SEO services. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of field sales and marketing for Norton, responsible for $1.7bn of revenue globally.Since Derek became CEO of Brightpearl in spring 2016, the company has seen significant growth in its core customer base, cementing its position as an invaluable asset for mid-sized merchants seeking a competitive edge.
Andrew is Chief Product Officer for Brightpearl and is responsible for product strategy and development as well as ensuring the highest levels of reliability and security for the Brightpearl platform. Andrew’s technology career spans over 20 years, in market-leading investment banks, most recently at CIO level. Responsibilities have ranged from running targeted, business critical programmes, to managing a technology organisation of 500+ staff across 5 major locations. Functional areas covered, include; high volume, highly available, transaction processing systems, as well as process automation, workflow and client facing technologies. Andrew started his career as a graduate programmer, after completing an MSc in Information Technology and still likes to occasionally write code, to ensure he retains a deep understanding of what it takes to develop quality software.
